There is always one topic that disturbs us greatly when working with business owners. It is always in the forefront of our minds, however, most business owners are so busy working and building their business that something so simple very frequently is overlooked. The topic that I’m referring to is a Buy-Sell Agreement!
Some of the most disturbing facts about a Buy Sell Agreement are:
- Approximately 69% of all business owners Do Not Have a Buy-Sell Agreement in place.
- If an agreement is not in place, some businesses suffer failure if one of the partners should die prematurely.
- A Buy-Sell Agreement is simple to explain and implement.
- Many business owners don’t really know what the value of their business is because they have never had a business valuation done.
- Typically Buy-Sell Agreements are funded through Life Insurance Policies.
If you are a business owner and some of the things listed above pertain to you, I’m sure that is disturbing to you as well.
